The Anatomy of a Money Making Auto Responder Series

Auto responders…we’ve seen them. The good, the bad, and the really bad! For those who are still wondering what an auto responder is, it’s a pre written email message that’s delivered automatically at a predetermined time.
I’m not talking about the automatic emails you receive that say “Sorry but I’m away on holiday and won’t be back in the office until…” I’m talking about auto responders that are used to build relationships, have fun and increase profits.  
Anyone selling a product or service should have a money making auto responder series to handle the increase in traffic from people who are subscribing to their lists. Today where talking about the anatomy of that auto responder series and what makes them successful.
Your blueprint for writing a money making auto responder series…
Builds rapport- Such a buzz word but you do need to remember who you're talking to. You have to write as though you’re speaking to a friend…a really good friend. So for goodness sake, drop the formalities. If you expect to have repeat customers then you must take this to heart.
Give them something to do- Many people are suffering from short attention-itis. Here’s the cure…you have to give them something to do. Invite them to connect with you on Facebook. Ask them to share it with a friend. If they just purchased a product, invite them to come back to your website and let you know how it’s helping them.
Lead them to the next step- Sort of like preparing your favorite recipe. You have to gather the ingredients, start from the beginning and work your way through to the end…the same thing here. Let’s say you have a 7 day free offer, on day 4 you may send them an email inviting them to come ask you any questions they have related to your offer.

Give them some updates– This is really fun because most people don’t do this. Share the successes that people are having with your products or services. Somewhere in your auto responder series, you want to highlight some testimonials from your clients. People don’t want to see you toot your own horn but will be happy to see others do it.
Ask a question- You’ve been building rapport, inviting and perhaps connecting with people on social media. You want to ask questions. Nothing technical, remember to keep it light and casual. Perhaps you want to know if they’ve implemented what you’ve shared with them. Have they downloaded and read your e-book? I get tickled when people respond to my auto responder saying “yes, I did download it but I haven’t read it yet”. They think I wrote it just to them.
Tell a story- I’ve heard this time and time again. Facts tell BUT stories sell! Stories allow you connect with people in a way that just spewing a bunch of numbers ever will. People want a heart to heart connection. Stories about what you ask? For example, you can share stories about people and how their quality of life has increased by using your product or service.
Ask for the sale- Finally! After the last week or so, depending on how long your auto responder series is, your audience has had a chance to get to know you and ask questions. You’ve given value and now you want to lead them to the next step. Ask for the sale, you’ve earned it but not before!
Don’t ever forget that you are marketing to people and it is the people who have the money. Therefore, it’s imperative that you write in a way that connects with people. Use language they understand and be unpretentious.
