One thing that I love about being a woman is the wardrobe. Seriously! I mean, you can take one outfit and dress it up or down in about 3 or 4 different ways. Talk about getting your money’s worth. Well guess what? You can get the same mileage from your blog content. You ever wonder how on earth some people continue to churn out product after product? Or create fresh and amazing content when you struggle every week just to write one blog post?

Why repurpose your content?

There have been numerous studies to show that people remember a small fraction of what they read, so it only makes sense to take what you’ve written and spin it in as many different ways as possible. People have different learning styles and it’s important to always remember that and give people as many options as possible…or someone else may. In addition, some people have never heard of you or your blog…shocking, I know. You have to put yourself out there in as many different channels as you can.

Your content creation starting point
First things first…you got to write some compelling content. Making sure you’ve done some good keyword research coupled with a subject matter that people want to know about. If you’re at a loss for what to write, don’t worry you’re not alone. Great ideas for blog content are all around.

Spin #1- Video
This is one of my favorites. Most people are afraid of being in front of the camera, I guess because the camera doesn’t lie. However, this is the one place where your personality can shine through and people can see the real you and connect with you. You can repurpose your written article into a video. Just press record, look into the camera and speak your content. The cool thing is that people can see your facial expressions as well as hearing your voice inflections.

Spin #2- Audio
Everyone doesn’t’ like to read so you can take that video you just made and just rip the audio file from it. Take that written word and create an audio. There are so many free tools that there is no excuse for not getting it done, google it. One of my favorites is Audacity, a free software used to record and edit sounds.  Flashgot is another fabulous tool that I use to download audio or you can also use Camtasia, though the investment may prohibit you. What do you do with the audio? Submit it to iTunes or some other podcast directory.

Spin #3- Article Directories
You can and should be taking your articles and re-purpose them for your favorite article directory. There are many to choose from but the one I recommend you absolutely must have on your list is ezine. If you don’t have an account then create one right now. It’s absolutely free and has hundreds of people on the site daily. You’ll have to read their guidelines to get the word count for your article but generally speaking most articles are 500-1000 words long.

If you haven’t taken the time to repurpose your content, I hope that you see the value in it. You can now go back to all your former articles and start putting it out there using some of if not all of the options I just shared. Of course there are other things you can do but for now, this is a great start.

Take out your calendar and make time to start repurposing your content and if you find that you just don’t have the time to get it all done, don’t worry because I can definitely assist you.

Now it’s your turn. What’s your plan to getting your content in front of a bigger market?
