How To Create & Add A Gravatar (Picture) To Your Blog Comments

By Golda Smith

I don't know about you but it my opinion that social media is all about connecting with people and one of the first ways that we connect with people is by seeing their face…looking into their eyes. Have you ever gone to a blog, or if you own a blog, see the shadow figures? I always think of Alfred Hitchcock when I see those blank images. Anyway, in the high traffic and very short attention span that is travels online, it's so important to not only stand out but to build relationships with people, and a picture is worth a thousand words! So STOP hiding!!!

I can tell you that personally, I notice the gravatar first and I tend to interact more with those users. It's that know, like and trust factor. It's one of those little details that many people don't think about or they think it's really not important. Big mistake! When there are thousands of people trying to get your attention online, everything big and little thing you do makes a difference.

I actually made a video on this very subject a while ago but I felt I needed to bring the topic back up because I still see so many people violating this tip.

When you leave a comment on a blog, you are exposing yourself to thousands of other people and branding yourself. Commenting on relevant blogs also creates valuable back links to your site. People who maybe wouldn't have even found you would more likely to a peek at what you have to say based solely on your beautiful and inviting image.

Now that you're convinced that you need to get one…pronto, go ahead and watch this really quick tutorial and getting to commenting!

I told you it was quick. Go here right now to create your free account, If you already have an account, that's all right, I'd still love to hear from you.

Was this tutorial video  helpful? If so, please share it with your friends on twitter & facebook. Until next time…

I've been meaning to do this forever, but just never made it a priority.  Having an article right in front of with a video to walk me through the setup meant I had no more excuses!
Thank you for putting this together, Golda!

It is so meaningful to add pictures and help a lot to understand the things which are explained…

When you have a Gravatar with your post, blog owners don't see you as a spammer but more as a repeating users who come to their site cause their interested in their articles.

Your post is very interesting. Enabling gravatar on your blog site doesn't only boosts comments but also increases your blogs reputation to your readers.
