Plan Your Exit Strategy

By now I think it’s safe to say that we all personally know someone who has lost a job, been laid off, down-sized or felt the effect of the financial tsunami is some form. It would seem that corporate America has proven that employees are dispensable and contracts go to the lowest bidder. If you have every thought about starting your own business, NOW is the perfect time. According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, 7 million jobs were lost between December 2007 and August 2009. Perhaps you were one of the 7 million, lucky you! You have every reason to start your own business. Let’s examine a few reasons why:

  • You probably working 50-60 hours a week maybe more. Why not put that time, skills and energy into building your own bank account instead of someone that you probably have never met?
  • You have the freedom and flexibility to work where and when you want in addition to the potential to earn an unbelievable income.
  • Starting a business during lean times forces one to think creatively about how every penny will be spent. The benefit of this is when the economy eventually picks up; you have a solid financial foundation.

This a time to discover new talents and pursue the dreams that you probably buried some time ago.
Maybe you just need an extra $500 every month, then part time income is what you need, so work your business part time. I don’t believe in 2nd jobs, simply because if the 1st job was bringing in enough then I wouldn’t need to pimp myself out to someone else.
If your still sitting on the fence, consider this, the network marketing industry had sales over $30 billion dollars in 2008, according to the Direct Selling Association. This industry is only going to get BIGGER, when will you get on board? With an internet connection and a cell phone it is so easy to start and run a business from home. My advice is to make a decision and then take ACTION.
