Happy Good Friday

Easter (1)

Good Day lovelies-

I wanted to take a moment to wish you a Happy Passover and Easter! If you don’t celebrate this holiday then I wish you a wonderful day regardless.

I am not sure how the idea of eggs, bunny rabbits and Christ got mixed together but it did and now we have children searching for chocolate covered eggs. Today I would like to offer you three simple tips on how to navigate Easter without going overboard on candy and remembering why we celebrate this time of year.

Something we did when our children were younger was to fill plastic eggs with non-sugary items and hide them around the house. For example, eggs would be filled with temporary tattoos, cute erasers and even money in varying currencies.

Another kid friendly idea is to take your favorite snack, for example, some organic popcorn, and put into cellophane bags and then place them into your Easter baskets. You may still be able to find Easter themed cellophane bags at the Dollar Tree, Target or a comparable retailer.

I am always down to make it fitness centered. Go for a long walk before or after dinner. Do some gentle yoga with your family. Did you know there is a posture called Rabbit Pose? Google it and make sure to include it in your yoga flow. Most of all, have fun.

Use this time to unplug and be totally present with those in your space. Let them know how much you love and appreciate them. At the end of the day, Easter…Passover, has nothing to do with eggs, chocolate or cute bunny rabbits. It’s about the death of sin and the resurrection to a new life. I encourage you to put to death what no longer serves you and give life (feed and nurture) those things that will allow you to be the best version of yourself.

To your health,

P.S. It’s a short few weeks until the official start of summer aka Memorial Day, and I’ll be hosting a FREE 5-day workout group beginning April 24th. If you’re down for the fun then leave a comment below and let me know.
