It’s a few hours before kick off and if you are a die hard football fan OR die hard super bowl commercial fan (yes, there is such a thing) then you’ve probably got your wings, snack and beverages ready.
 
Before you get comfortable I wanted to ask, have you gotten your sweat on? Have you burned those calories your about to consume? Yeah, it’s game day but you want to keep the promise you made to yourself to make your health a priority. With February being Heart Health Month, this is a great reminder to take care of your heart and I have a quick HIIT workout you can do BEFORE kickoff.
 
I did it this morning and I promise, it is quick! You only need a jump rope and kettle bell. If you don’t have a kettle bell then use a dumb bell or other weighted object. Do a quick 5 minute warm up and stretch before you start. You will also need a tabata timer which you can download from the app store. The workout is very simple…

 

Super Bowl HIIT

There are 3 sets, as you can see from the photo. Do each exercise in an AB format for 20 seconds on and 10 seconds off, 4 times. For example, set 1
 Jump rope for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds, Kettle bell swings for 20 seconds, rest for 10 seconds and repeat 3 more times.
 
THEN rest for 60 seconds and move onto set 2! Got it? Good! When you’ve completed the last set do your cool down, stretch, drink some water and go on about your business. If by chance you are reading this on a beautiful sunny summer day…the workout still stands! Get ‘er done 🙂
