If you have been in sales for any amount of time then you understand that leads are the lifeline of your business. No leads=no sales=no food. There are three specific things that you need to do in order to start generating 20+ leads right now: build a list, build a relationship with your list, and monetize your list.
First things first, you have to build your list and there are a million ways to do so. I suggest that you first define who you’re trying to reach. Do you have a niche? For example I was chatting, via face book, with a “friend” who is a CPA, well HELLO don’t you think that she could develop a niche providing valuable content to small business owners or to people in a certain economic bracket? Perhaps other CPA’s are her niche, the possibilities are great! So your list is built what’s next?
Build a relationship with that list. Back to my CPA friend, how could she build a relationship with small business owners? Its tax season and what business owner doesn’t want to know about all the tax deductions that they can legally take? Or how to properly categorize expenses? Again, there are a number of ways to reach them and you’re only limited by your own creativity. You’ve got your blog (if you don’t have one get one), your articles, videos, lunch and learns. Think outside the box but above all be yourself and be genuine.
Finally, once the list is built and you’ve develop a relationship where you are providing value, then and only then can you think about monetizing the list. At this point your leads should see your value and come seeking you so at this point you need to feel very comfortable offering your services or presenting your business opportunity. Remember, you have already proven your worth and blow it by begging. I will caution you not to get overly excited when your leads start coming in. You have to keep cranking the pedal and repeat the cycle DAILY.
