Your Mood Swings Will Torpedo Your Network Marketing Business

Are you moody? Do your emotions fluctuate between high and low? Since you are human, the answer may be yes, after all we are human. However, as a network marketer, you must understand that you are in the people business. This article will discuss why you need to wake up and realize that it is not the business but you that needs to change.

One of the problems with people just starting in MLM or network marketing is that this is the first time that they have been exposed to entrepreneurship. You see, this is an industry of entrepreneurship being flooded by people who have never been entrepreneurs. They have never written a business plan. They have never built and managed a team. They have never given a business presentation.

Generally people are attracted to network marketing out of desperation, excitement or hope. All of these reasons are based on emotion. The danger with this is that emotions can change with the wind. Think about your last 24 hours, how many different levels of emotions did you experience?

As it relates to network marketing, most of the distributors within any company live by their emotions. Every new lead is the next potential superstar. You attend every event hoping for the “secret” to success. You celebrate because you recruited two new business partners into your business opportunity. You pace back and forth because your guest did not show up for your opportunity meeting, although they promised they would.

The reason why so many people experience these emotional highs and lows is that they operate from a place of lack and limitation. They may feel that if they don’t get into the right opportunity at the right time then they won’t get their share of the pie. It’s exhausting to go between emotions as often as most people do. This is the reason why you jump from business to business, thinking that this will solve your problem and it won’t.

Professionals know that the only way to build a success network marketing business is take their emotions out of the game. Whatever happens, is all part of the growth process. The good, the bad, the ugly don’t cause ruffles in the feathers. Of course, life happens, but it’s not about what happens to you. It’s about how you choose to respond to what happens to you. When you are able to keep your emotions in check, not only will you become the leader that people seek out but you will become the leader that you seek out.
