If you’re new to network marketing or want to close your eyes, blink three times and get a do over then read this article. I am going to outline a few essentials that you need to have and put into practice on a consistent basis to see the business success that you desire.
First, and this is very important…you need to have a very clear WHY. Yeah, yeah you have heard this before but it probably wasn’t a big enough why or you would not struggle to remain motivated. You see without clearly understanding why you are in “this” business then you will easily be lead astray by the next shiny new tool promising you instant relief from your pain.
Next, you need to make a commitment. I laugh every time someone tells me they tried network marketing. You either do it whole heartedly or you don’t do it at all. An entrepreneur understands that they are leaders and must lead from the front. Are you totally committed to your business?
The third thing you need to do is time block. As a mom I understand how easily it is to get distracted, so get a calendar and pen and block off when you are working and exactly what those activities are. Block off time with your family and don’t forget your “me” time, which is just as important as everything else, so don’t short change yourself.
Fourth thing you must do is make your list. Just because we are on the internet does not mean we don’t talk to our warm market. Our warm market isn’t limited to our family and close friends but to anyone we have a relationship with.
Next, you need to put together your success plan. What amount of income do you want to earn? When you figure that out then work backwards and calculate how many new team mates you need to bring into the business. How many new leads you need to make a day? Who do you want as your mentor? This is all part of your success plan.
Sixth, become a student of your company. You are not expected to know everything right from the beginning but you should remain a constant student. You should also order and use your company marketing materials. They are designed to help you succeed.
The seventh thing you need to do is to stay plugged into the system. Follow what the leaders are doing. I can tell you one thing; leaders always show up to meetings and events. Get on every webinar and conference call that you can to stay educated and connected. One word of caution though, do not get so caught up that you don’t take any action.
The eighth thing you want to do is get very familiar with your compensation plan. You want to know exactly how you get paid and how to calculate your checks don’t you. More importantly, as a leader you need to be able to explain to your new business partners.
