What Personality Type Is Best Suited For Success in Network Marketing?

Success in network marketing boils down to two things; the first is being able to effectively market and the second is becoming the leader that people desire. This article deals with the later. The truth is that anyone can do this business but everyone won’t and should not. Now you may be shaking your head. Didn’t you just say that anyone can do this business? Yes I did. I also know that I can do a swan dive off of the Brooklyn Bridge, that doesn’t mean that I should.

This business can be tough and you need to be tough. Not in a mean way but resilient. There are basically three personality types: beta, pre-alpha and alpha. Allow me to give you a brief explanation of each.

Betas- Typically has low self-esteem, seek approval, have poor posture, seldom make and or keep eye contact. Basically they have very little value to offer so instead they seek to be around those that do.

Pre-Alphas- Start to push themselves outside of their comfort zone. Their confidence and self worth have risen dramatically. They start exhibiting leadership qualities but may still be uncomfortable taking on leadership responsibilities. They do however have the vision that is very much lacking in the Beta.

Alphas- These are the guys and gals that everyone else wants to be. It seems like all they have to do is wave their magic wand and the universe is theirs. They are followed and pursued by others.

What personality type do you fall into today? Here’s the cool thing, your answer does not determine your ultimate success. You could have responded that you are indeed a Beta. I am telling you that if you decided to put the work in to becoming an Alpha, you very well can do so and become the person that others are attracted to.

In the business of network marketing success ultimately goes to the person who understands that they must leave emotion out of the game. You can’t become emotional when it comes to people saying no. You can’t become emotional over the people who said they would show up for your presentation but don’t. You can’t become emotional over the people who get off to a great start and then join the witness protection program.

The kind of person, who understands that they must leave emotion out of the business, has a strong belief in themselves. That’s the Alpha. Now you may be thinking “how do I acquire those skills?” Well the answer is simple. You have to do what most people will not do. For whatever reason, most people won’t be willing to put the work into developing into the leader that they themselves seek. Find the Alpha’s in your life and start doing everything they do, period, no excuses. They are easy to spot. They win all of the company sponsored trips. They are never alone unless they choose to be. They have large teams but most importantly, they are respected because they give value.

How do you give value? You have to give beyond what was expected; under promise and over deliver. Give value in your articles, videos or however you choose to get your message out and then do just a little bit more. Give and remember this acronym G.I.V.E.: gain influence very easily. When you give you will get back a lot more, you will become unforgettable.

In conclusion, anyone can be successful in network marketing if they have the right tools and are ready to roll up their sleeves and do the necessary work even if that means undergoing a personality makeover.

Ok so I was using the wrong words when I said alpha tonight on our call. I meant he is a RED and I am NOT 🙂 LOL! Great blog post definitely useful.
