WAHMs Building a Huge Network Marketing Business from Referrals

by golda on January 18, 2011

I was on a training call recently and we were talking about referrals. More specifically, asking for referrals. Now I don’t know about you but I not only love giving referrals…I love receiving them too. It takes the guess work out of things when someone gives you a good referral for a product or service that you have. As a mompreneur, who has the time to find every thing we need on our own?

When you receive good service don’t you want to share it? Don’t you want to do business with people who do business with you? Cassie Eberhart talked about this very fact recently with me in Dallas. WAHM’s and Mompreneurs are naturally gifted connectors and we need to use that to our advantage. Check out what my fellow blogger and WAHM, Heather Stephens has to say on that subject.

I think that women naturally love to give referrals but why is it we seem to be timid about asking for a referral when it’s for our business? Especially when asking from people or places where we spend money? I have a little more to say in the following video.

Starting today I’m challenging my WAHM’s and Mompreneurs to make it your business to ask for referral from anyone that you pay for a service. I don’t care who it is. Trust me, they wouldn’t hesitate for a minute to ask you if it could help them grow their business and neither should you.  Remember if you never ask the question, the answer is always NO 😉

Hey Golda,

Great tip – referrals are a fantastic way to connect with people, especially because there’s always an element of trust built in already when a recommendation is made from a mutual connection or friend…

The best thing about them though is that they are free!

Thanks for putting out this excellent tip Golda,

All the best,

Hi Jym. Referrals are absolutely the best way to build a business because as you pointed out there is that element of trust. One thing to remember is to be authentic when giving a referral. Make sure that the person you are referring matches the criteria for the person asking for the referral. Thanks again for your comment.

Hi Golda,

as a matter of fact, if we want more referrals, we have to give referrals first. It’s all about reciprocity.

Thanks for sharing your insigths.

Take care

Hi Oliver. Thank you for your comment, I agree with you 100% that you should give first in order to get. The point that I wanted to make with this video is that we absolutely should ask for referrals from people and places where we spend money. Thanks again.

Hi Golda! It’s true that women are natural networkers, so we must keep that in mind when moving in the world. This goes back to being authentically who we are, and not overcomplicating this thing. Great video, and you pushin a beamer too?! I love it… confirmation all around me! Thanks for being you.

Hi Golda, great article. Its funny, referrals are one of those things we are all aware of, however we don’t think about asking for very often. Its a great thing to keep in mind. Great blog BTW. I enjoyed watching your videos too.
Best regards

Hi Jayne and thank you for your compliment and comment. I think that more people should start giving referrals and they would be surprised how many they would start attracting to themselves. Until next time….

Hello Golda,
Great tip about referrals. So many times we neglect the little things like this that can bring great success within our business growth. I will use this everywhere I go, as you said businesses are built by referrals.
